Our focus in English 8 will be to identify elements of effective reading, writing, and speaking. We will also practice empathy and anti-racist approaches to culture and identity. We will continue to pursue reflection in all aspects of learning as well as discuss changes we can make in our classroom, community, and world around us. We will use current events as well as much of the school supported curriculum and resources.
The first unit of study is on the subject of suspense and creating tension in a text you read. Every study who picked up their bundle of supplies was given a StudySync workbook to use alone with digital/virtual texts.
Each student can read the excepts and assigned reading as well as the additional information provided form the online assignments and materials.
This workbook is for the student to use, read, write on, and complete any instructions within the book as assigned to enhance their understanding of the text and concepts.
