I am honored to be a part of the Counseling Guidance Team at Cal High as your School Social Worker! I look forward to the opportunity to provide all the support I can here on campus.
I was born and raised in Anaheim, California, and attended Katella High School. Because I was raised by immigrant parents who spoke limited English, I found it difficult to find the resources and knowledge I needed to pursue higher education directly out of high school. I ended up attending Fullerton College and am so glad I did. I feel that community colleges are such a great resource and can be an amazing transitional stepping stone in between attending a 4-year university. After Fullerton College, I transferred to the University of California, Irvine, where I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Later, I received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from USC. Because of my upbringing in an immigrant household, I’m very passionate about providing help and resources to students who face similar struggles as I did or may be feeling confused on what comes next after high school.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which means I am certified to provide psychotherapy. I’m so fortunate to have spent my career working at education levels K-12 throughout Whittier, helping build up the community through the youth and their families.
Support I provide may include but are not limited to mental health services for individuals, families, or groups, as well as crisis interventions.
