The Nicasio Salerno Scholarship for Community Service recognizes students who demonstrate a strong desire to help others in need and assist them in achieving their goals, which improves their personal growth and the well-being of their community. The scholarship honors the legacy of Nicasio Salerno, a former district student who returned to serve as a teacher, coach, principal, and ultimately, the El Monte Union High School District Superintendent, dedicating his life to giving back to his community.

La Beca Nicasio Salerno para Servicio Comunitario reconoce a los estudiantes que demuestran un fuerte deseo de ayudar a otros necesitados y asistirlos en el logro de sus metas, lo que mejora su crecimiento personal y el bienestar de su comunidad. La beca honra el legado de Nicasio Salerno, un ex estudiante del distrito que regresó para servir como maestro, entrenador, director y, en última instancia, superintendente del Distrito Escolar Secundario El Monte Union, dedicando su vida a contribuir a su comunidad.
