Welcome to Woodbridge Middle School!
Your child has officially transitioned from elementary school to middle school! This is an exciting year filled with growth opportunities: academically, socially, and emotionally. It’s a time when children seek more independence but still need guidance to make smart choices and understand the consequences of their actions. As adults, it can be tricky to find the balance between providing guidance and stepping back to let them learn. One thing is for sure: sixth grade is a fantastic time for students to explore new activities, discover their strengths, and get involved!
PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO REVIEW ALL OF THE TABS AT THE TOP OF THIS SITE WITH YOUR CHILD. 👀
THEY ARE FILLED WITH USEFUL INFORMATION.
Some of my goals for the school year include:
Promote a love for language, reading, and writing
Teach my students strategies and skills that will help them become better readers, writers, speakers, and critical thinkers
Enhance student self-confidence and guide them into becoming responsible independent learners
To provide time for students to read and write often
Here are some ways for you to help your child succeed:
Emphasize the importance of classwork, homework, and hard work.
Encourage your child to aim high. Middle school is an important and necessary stepping stone.
Be sure to praise your child when they are doing well and acknowledge his or her growth. Encouragement and praise go a long way!
Look at your child's grades on Genesis together.
Remind your child to read nightly for at least 20 minutes per night. Try to be involved in what they are reading.

Students will depart through the same doors.
Parents/guardians who are waiting for their children at the end of the school day should follow all posted parking regulations on both Barron Avenue and Grove Avenue.

Sincerely,
