WELCOME TO OUR BASIC FOODS CLASS
This is an introductory, foundation class where we learn all the basic principles of food preparation, food buying and basic nutrition.
Students learn about the importance of safety and sanitation in food preparation.
students learn the use of the several equipment, proper measuring as well as following step by step instructions to complete a variety of recipes.
Our class is mainly hands-on in groups as well as individual assignments.
Come to class prepared to learn.
Each one of us is important, respect self and everyone else.
Treat each other, just as we would like to be treated.
Bullying of any kind is not tolerated; Please report any issue that you are concerned about.
No food or drinks will brought to our class; as a school policy and also for those of us who may be allergic.
Cellphones can be used when we have all completed our assignments. They should NOT be used in the Kitchen for sanitation reasons.
Our electric outlets are only for charging our kitchen appliances.
We do not take pictures of videos of anyone, due to privacy contract for some of us.
We can take pictures of the foods we prepare with permission.
Make sure your Chromebook is charged everyday, it is part of being prepared.
Dress appropriately, our shoes should be closed up for safety reasons
Complete assigned individual or group work as instructed and during assigned time.
Copying is strictly not allowed, No credit will be given to both parties.
Work quietly at the the table or in assigned kitchen
Complete all assigned work that you missed if absent. This will usually indicate as 'missing' in Genesis.
All assignments given however small are graded
Be attentive and focused throughout our class sessions.
Extra effort is noticed; you get credit for it.
Our class sessions will run throughout our assigned time. Teacher will dismiss the class after the bell; we do not line up by the door
