Classroom Expectations

Welcome to Geometry class!  I hope that by the end of the course, you have a greater appreciation for the world that surrounds us.

The school guidelines are as follows:

1. Please move quickly in hallways.  Do not hall roam.

2. Memorize your daily schedule, especially lunch times.

3. For times in between classes, D-wing and A-wing center stairwells are UP ONLY.  The A-wing end stairwells are DOWN ONLY.

4. Return from lunch on time.  Since we have C-lunch, the bell to go to lunch is 11:58 and the return late bell is 12:29.  Return 12:30 or later, you will be marked late.

School expectations per Administration:

1. No personal electronic devices (phones, headphones, smartwatches, etc).  Parent notice has been sent,  procedures will be followed. 

2. No food or drink (with the exception of water).  

3. No coats, hats, or hoods in the classroom (except religious or medical clearance).   

4. No locker passes.  No lockers going to or from lunch.

5. No bags of any kind are allowed in class.

6. No visitors or visiting.

7. Safety drills - our exit door for fire drills is the door past room 115 (a right turn out our classroom door), then proceed to the back fields.  Know lockdown, lockdown window, shelter in place, and code blue procedures.

The following are the expectations for class:

1. Honesty is, and has always been, the best policy.  Follow the rules, do your own work, put in the effort, and nobody will bother you.

2. Show up to class on time with your chromebook as charged as possible, something to write with, and something to write in (notebook, binder, etc).  

3. As class presentations are occurring, stay as silent as possible so you and your classmates can follow along.

4. It's easier to remember things if you write them down yourself.  If I write something, you should too.

5. We will consider the Desmos Scientific Calculator (desmos.com/scientific) our class calculator.  You may use your own if you have one.   

6. We will review all homework assignments in a variety of ways but we will not go over every problem for any particular assignment.

7. During the first marking period I will warn, then take points off of any assignment that doesn't show work.  After the first marking period, any homework handed in with answers only will receive a 50.  You must show work for credit.
