Veteran Performers and Parents:

Timliness Policy:

"To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, to be late. . .you better have a good reason"

Rehearsals begin at 6:00 and instruction ends at 8:00.  Students need to arrive early to ensure they are prepared for the 6:00PM start and will take time to clean up after instruction ends.  We don't have extra time to "hang out" after rehearsal, all students should be picked up by 8:30 at the latest.

Things happen, people are late, trains stop traffic, but communication is key.  If students are late, they need to be in contact with their student leadership to ensure they are accounted for.

Summer Attendance Policy:

June and July: If you are "in the state", you are expected to attend rehearsal.  If you have a conflict, please complete the absence form so you are accounted for.

August: Precamp attendance is required; if you have a conflict, please speak to the director, IN ADVANCE.  We are very flexible, with appropriate communication, but missing time puts students behind in learning material/prepping for band camp.

Band Camp: Attendance is required.  If you are unable to attend, we will find opportunities for students to participate, but they can not have a spot on the field.

Post Camp: Attendance is required; if you have a conflict, please speak to the director, IN ADVANCE.  We are flexible with communication, but missing this time puts students behind in learning the show/prepping for our first performance.

School Year Attendance Policy

Students are allowed 2 night absences from rehearsal for whatever reason.  Students are expected to fill out absence forms for any reason.  After the third absence, a meeting will be held with the student and guardian about attendance.  After the 5th absence, for any reasons, students may be removed from the ensemble at the director's discretion.

Students are allowed 1 after school absence from rehearsal for whatever reason. Students are expected to fill out absence forms for any reason.  After the 2nd absence, a meeting will be held with the student and a guardian about attendance.

All games and competitions are required.  Unexcused absences from games or competitions may result in removal from the ensemble at the director's discretion.

Additional Information.

If there are standing conflicts (ex. religous or cultural school), students must speak to the director to discuss, in advance, what that means regarding attendance.

School related conflicts will be handled on a case by case basis, but need to be addressed in advance.  Performances take precidence over practices.  Conflicting performances will be handed on case by case basises.

If a student misses more than 1 night rehearsal in a week, they are not allowed to perform at the football game that week.  They are expected to attend the game and be counted, but will not perform.  Saturday competition performance will be at the discretion of the director.
