Director of Bands
Mr. Kohn is an active music educator and performer who has been the Director of Bands at Woodbridge High School for 15 years. He has lead the program to receive numerous accolades across the community and county including multiple invitations to perform at CJMEA Wind Band Festival. He leads the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble Courses as well as a plethora of extra curricular activities including the pit band and the Marching Band. He proudly lead the ensemble at the Swearing in of the NJ State Assembly and has had the opportunity to conduct the CJMEA Region Wind Ensemble on multiple occasions.Mr. Kohn earned a BM in Music Education from the University of Delaware in 2009 and a MM in Wind Conducting from Messiah University in 2020. Jason studied saxophone with Todd Groves. His conducting teachers include Dr. Robert Streckfuss, Dr. Jim Colona, and Dr. Travis Weller and has attended conducting symposia with Dr. Kim Fleming, Dr. Joseph Higgins, Dr. Thomas McCauley, Professor Jeffery Grogan, and Professor Craig Kirchhoff. Beyond the band room Mr. Kohn enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his amazing wife and beautiful daughter.
