ALEKS
What is ALEKS? (From the ALEKS website)
Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces is a Web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system. ALEKS uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know in a course. ALEKS then instructs the student on the topics she is most ready to learn. As a student works through a course, ALEKS periodically reassesses the student to ensure that topics learned are also retained. ALEKS courses are very complete in their topic coverage and ALEKS avoids multiple-choice questions. A student who shows a high level of mastery of an ALEKS course will be successful in the actual course he or she is taking.
The ALEKS program will be used to supplement learning of each module.
You will be given a username and password for your account.
The ALEKS Pre-Test will be administered outside of class, but needs to be complete in order to complete the work in class.
All topics should be completed before the end of the semester.
During class, most of the time will be spent on the ALEKS program, but you will also be required to spend time at home on ALEKS. Each week you will be given a quiz grade that will be based off of the time you have spent on the ALEKS program out of school.
