We have 10 minutes for snack each day, which we have in the morning.  Please try to send in a healthy snack and drink. It is best to send in a reusable water bottle.  We have a filling station in school if they drink all of their water before the end of the day.   Please practice opening up snack containers or packages.  Students have the option to buy lunch and/or milk for lunch daily.  You may send in money or go online to add money to your child's lunch account. You will be directed to our lunch company by logging on to our school website.

Each week, your child will be given new sight words that we are working on .  Our homework each week will focus on the words introduced that week. Each set of words will be given in a specific color (we will do all of the colors in the rainbow).  We do not memorize words.  There are some words that we work on early to help build reading fluency, but we learn reading rules for our words. Quizzes are given at the end of each set of words in a color to see how we are doing in remembering our reading rules and putting them into practice.   Decoding words is essential in reading. If your child is struggling, we will work together to help them.

Any changes in transportation for your child should be sent in writing.

Homework packets are given out every Monday and are due back on Friday.  

I will be offering the option to order from Scholastic Book Club throughout the year. Scholastic offers a variety of books at reasonable prices. Furthermore, if you place an order for Scholastic, our class gets bonus points that can be used to purchase class books.

Weekly specials

We will have gym and music twice each week and art once each week.  Students must wear sneakers on gym days.  Once I know our specials for the week, I will let you know.  Specials will be at the same time each week.
