Through this program, our student ambassadors will:
- Gain leadership skills
- Develop presentation skills
- Learn to work as a team
There will be meetings twice a month for preparation of presentations after school from October through January and trips will take place during block 2 from February-May.
These meetings and trips are MANDATORY and must not be missed.
Student Requirements:
Must have public speaking/presentation experience
Must be 11th or 12th-grade student - 11th-grade students have a TWO-year commitment
Must have good academic standing
Minimal, if any, conduct issues
Before you are selected, I will meet with the administration to discuss candidates.
Colonia High School Safety Ambassador Requirements:
You will receive mandatory training on Friday, October 6th, during school hours, on how to teach the different safety topics.

Must be able to collaborate with a partner on a topic of their choice (3 students per topic):
Wheeled Sports
Safety In and Around Cars
Pedestrian Safety
Falls Prevention
Prepare a 25-30 minute lesson plan
Includes key terms and scenarios
Create a visual and interactive presentation (more visual than words)
Interactive game/activity - song/video/movement
Attend monthly meetings twice a month - this is subject to change pending teacher availability. THREE missed meetings will result in immediate removal from the program.
Participate in community service programs and other activities during the school year.
MUST attend the Safety Summit training on October 8th during school. Transportation and lunch are provided.
This counts as community service hours as well!!
