Cell Phone and Technology Usage: 

Per the Woodbridge School District Policies for Students, cellular phones are to be placed in lockers throughout the school day. They are not permitted in the classroom for use. 

Students are expected to come to class with their chrome books charged (and/or with a charger) and ready to be used in class. Personal devices are not permitted in class unless cleared with the proper administration. 

Late Work & Absent Work: 

Students are expected to have assignments turned in on the assigned due date. All students have a one-class grace period to turn in work with no point deductions. Any assignment more than one day late will lose points each day until the assignment is turned in. 

No work will be accepted after three days past the original due date. No grade below a 50% will be given if the assignment is turned in with clear honest effort. Point deductions will go as follows: 1 point each day for minor assignments (homework, classwork, check ins), 3 points each day for major assignments (projects, written responses, etc.)

Extensions are given on an as-needed basis. Students are expected to inform Ms. Gonzales the day before an assignment is due (or sooner) to request an extension. A parent/guardian may also contact Ms. Gonzales for an extension on an assignment. If a student is granted an extension, the assignment is expected to be submitted on the new deadline, and will not have points deducted. If the extension deadline is missed, point deductions will follow the late policy.

Any student who is absent will have access to notes, presentations, and materials via Google Classroom or via print outs in class. They are also welcome to get missed notes from a peer. If an absence is known about in advance, parents/guardians may contact Ms. Gonzales to request work in advance. If a student misses an assignment due to an absence, they will receive an extension equivalent to the duration of their absence. (Ex: Absent for 3 school days=3 days to make up the work. Weekends are counted in those days)

Leaving Class:

Two (2) students will be permitted out of class at any given time. Students will take the designated classroom pass, as well as their school ID. 

Grading Policy: 

Assignments will be posted and graded in Genesis 2-5 days after the assigned due date. Late and missing work will be graded 2-5 days after it is submitted.

Any quiz or assessment receiving a 65% or lower is able to be re-taken at request.

Additional Class Policies:

• Toys are not permitted in class (Ex: Squishies, games, bouncy balls, paper airplanes, etc.) Students who bring toys will be asked to put them in their lockers. Repeated offenses will have the toys confiscated during the duration of class and a parent/guardian will be contacted.

• Fidgets are permitted, one per student. Fidgets must remain on a student's desks or in their hands/pockets. Misuse of the fidget will result in a parent/guardian contact.

• Students may leave class once per period (with exceptions made as needed)

• Students are responsible for their belongings within the room. Anything left behind in the classroom will be put in lost in found at the end of the school day.

Classroom Expectations:

Students are expected to come to class with an open mind and ready to begin lessons at the start of the bell. Both courses require active participation in discussions, exercises, games, and more. Homework will be collected after the Do Now/Bell Ringer (when assigned). Students are expected to maintain respect for others in the class, and must adhere to the Woodbridge Township School District's policies and code of conduct.

Discipline: 

Failure to align with district behavioral expectations and classroom policies will be handled according to the following disciplinary steps:

First offense: Verbal warning to the student

Second offense: One-on-one conference between student and teacher, plus phone call to parent/guardian

Third offense: Referral with administration
