Rules, Policies, and Expectations

Respect

You should be respectful towards everyone/everything in the class, including yourself, classmates, materials, and Ms. Dammann.

Borrowing Materials

When borrowing materials please use them appropriately and return them (if applicable). If items are not being used respectfully, they will be limited OR taken away.

Grading

Classwork is to be submitted on time. In the case of late work, students will lose five points each day it is not submitted. After the third day, a zero will be recorded on Genesis. If a student wishes to make up the assignment after three days, they must discuss it with Ms. Dammann before submitting. 

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else's work as one's own. This includes copying from AI or failing to give credit to a source. 

If a student is caught plagiarizing or utilizing AI on an assignment, they will receive an automatic zero, and their guardian(s) will be contacted.

Absent Work

All absent work can be easily located either on Google Classroom or in the absent folders on top of the rolling cart by Ms. Dammann's desk. All make-up work must be submitted no later than two days after your return; otherwise, it will be considered late. 

Classroom Library

When borrowing a book from the classroom library, students must sign it out by using the template in the "Library Log" binder. Books must be handled gently, as if they are your own, meaning no folding pages or writing in them.

Technology

Utilize technology efficiently in class. Chromebooks should not be out unless stated otherwise. The same goes for phones, as they should be in students' lockers.

Be on time.

Arrive at class before the bell rings.

Be prepared. 

Come to class with all of the materials necessary for class - Ms. Dammann will let you know what you need the day before. This also includes completing the assignments both inside and outside of school to be prepared for class, and staying organized.

Be engaged. 

While in class, be present in your learning and focused on the content or task at hand.

Be responsible.

You are in charge of your learning; make good decisions that will benefit you (ie, completing your work, using materials correctly, etc.).
