Grading Policies

Grading Policy:

• You will be assessed by a combination of major and minor assessments, including homework/class work, quizzes, projects, and tests.

• All assessments handed in late will receive a deduction in points, 10 points off for each day an assessment is late. (If you are present in class and do not turn work in you do not have the opportunity for make-up work).

• For every day absent, you are granted two days to make up any missing work.

• If you were present when work was assigned or done in-class, no make-up work will be accepted.

S/R track course marking period grades are 50% major assessment and 50% minor assessment.

Honors course marking period grades are 60% major assessment and 40% minor assessment.

AP course marking period grades are 75% major assessment and 25% minor assessment.

As most of our assignments utilize Google Docs, please familiarize yourself with Spell and Grammar checks (under "Tools"). All assignments must be reviewed with Spell and Grammar checks before submitting. If Spell and Grammar checks are not working, please add the Grammarly add-on as a helpful guide. Assignments submitted with spelling/grammar issues will result in points off.

Work must be completed on a Google Doc on the original assignment post in Google Classroom*. All work will be subjected to Google's Plagiarism review and may be subject to A.I. filters.

If the Plagiarism or A.I. filters indicate work other than your original writing has been turned in I will ask the individual student for an overview of the material in question; this may consist of a verbal review or a short written response to assure me that you are turning in your own work.

*some Creative Writing work may need to be done in another medium.
