Welcome to Mrs. Pinto's Preschool Class

Throughout the school year, I will use an app called ClassDojo to communicate via messages and class story. The app is very user friendly, similar to text messaging. It is often a great tool for families to communicate as well as see what the students have been working on during the week.

About Our Class

Our class is a full day preschool disabled class. We focus on building independence and social skills, receptive and expressive language, and play based learning. Students have many opportunities throughout the day to learn in a group setting and through classroom center activities. We exercise our muscles daily through participation in fine and gross motor activities.

Each week we incorporate a letter, number, color, and shape. Themes center around the focus for the week.

No matter what we are doing, we are learning while having fun!

Life Skills

Some great things that you can practice at home are life skills.

Some examples are:

Washing hands before eating or after the bathroom
Opening containers and packaging
Using a cup or utensils
Cleaning up when an activity is complete
Putting garbage in the trash can
Putting on clothing such as jackets or socks and shoes
Giving a pet food and water
Sweeping the floor or wiping the table
Putting clothes away
