Birthdays

There are students in our school community with potentially life-threatening food allergies. These foods may include PEANUTS and TREE NUTS. Accidental contacts with those foods can cause a severe allergic reaction and even death for students with this condition. Reactions such as itching, hives, swelling of the tongue/lips/throat and shortness of breath may occur.

Avoiding these foods and educating the community are the keys to keeping these students safe. Even though these students may not ingest an actual peanut or nut product, many foods actually contain traces of these products. It is important to remind your child(ren) not to share foods with other students as an allergy may occur.

Also, please take this into consideration when sending in foods for special occasions (i.e. birthday). Only commercially prepared foods with labeled ingredients may be sent in. No beverages or gift bags.

DUNKIN DONUTS (DOUGHNUTS OR MUNCHKINS) ARE NOT PERMISSIBLE AS THEY DO NOT COME WITH A LABEL OF INGREDIENTS.
