Visual Art I is the introductory art course for students beginning their high school art experiences. This course is designed to help students explore different types of art, develop new skills, discover their own creativity, and to determine the most appropriate art courses to take in the following years to come. 

Throughout the semester, students will complete individual projects using a variety of art materials, including graphite pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, pastels, watercolorl, acrylic paint, and sculpture materials. Each project introduces students to new techniques and gives them an opportunity to practice and build their artistic skills.
