In this course you be learning the basics of cooking, beginning with safety and sanitation. Once a safety assessment is complete, you will learn proper measuring, cooking terms, knife skills, and how to read a recipe. When these skills are mastered, you will begin to prepare recipes that cover several areas, such as quick and yeast breads, pies, fruits and vegetables, eggs, grains, and dairy. Before the conclusion of the course, we will discuss careers in the food industry. Not only focusing on chefs, but also nutritionists/dietitians, food scientists, or even food photography/journalism.
