Class of 2022:
What is the Accuplacer Writeplacer? The ACCUPLACER includes the WritePlacer exam, which is the ACCUPLACER essay test. On this portion of the test you are given a writing prompt/scenario and are evaluated on organization, focus, development and support, sentence structure, and mechanical conventions. It is recommended that the student construct a 5 paragraph essay. Scores on WritePlacer range from 1 to 8.
The Accuplacer Writeplacer is deemed an alternative Standardized Assessment for graduation. Students must be awarded a 6 out of an 8 to qualify for graduation. ELL students must receive a 4 out of a 6 to qualify.
The Accuplacer Writeplacer will take place on the following days. 11th grade students who have not met the ELA requirement will report to the CHS media center to take the Accuplacer Writeplacer on:
Last names A-E: Monday, May 24th at 9:45 am
Last names F-P: Tuesday, May 25th at 9:45 am
Last names R-Z: Wednesday, May 26th at 9:45 am.
Before entering the building, all parents must fill out the COVID attestation form that can be found on the Genesis Parent Portal. On the day of the test, students should bring:
A face mask
Fully charged Chromebook and Charger
Bottle water
Sharpened pencils
