 Music 

Class overview

Students in music 6, music 7, and music 8 will navigate music in their respected grade levels. Music 6 and 7 will compose music using western music iconic notation while students in music 8 will use a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) to create music in various settings. 

Students of all three music classes will also learn how to play the guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele. 

 

 

 

About the teacher:

Anthony Competello graduated from Kean University with a B.A. in Music Education in 2015 and received his M.M. in Music Education from Rutgers in 2022. A former Woodbridge Alumni himself, he enjoys not only teaching music, but also working as a freelance music director for the New Jersey Community Theatre scene. Accomplishments  include: receiving the NJACT Perry award for outstanding music direction in 2019 for the show Smokey Joes Cafe, and musically directing the NJ premier of Disaster! The musical, and SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical (nominated for outstanding music direction, and winner of outstanding musical in 2022) 

When not doing music, Anthony loves spending time with friends, and family, playing video games, and reading comics. He is also the editor of the Wildcat Daily, and the music director for the spring musical at Woodbridge High School!
