At Avenel Middle School, there are two types of choir. There is Choir 6, Choir 7, and Choir 8 . These are choir classes that meet during school for half the year (Q1 and Q3). These groups do not compete, and do not have a night performance. In place of this, the students will record an album which will be released after the quarter has been completed. These albums will be emailed to all the students who were in the class. The choir classes also discuss reading music, performance etiquette, sight singing, and ear training. 

Honors choir is an after school audition only choir. Students MUST be in the choir class (unless granted permission by the teacher) in order to audition.  The honors choir has two night concerts (both at Avenel Middle School) and community outreach events (all is listed on the google calendar below). The Honors Choir will end their year in competition this year at Six Flags Great Adventure.
