Concert Choir is an R-track class that meets every other day for the full year. It is offered to students based on a rigorous audition process. Students will learn how to improve and healthily develop their vocal technique through the performance of a variety of advanced music, in addition to expanding their knowledge about music theory, history, and literacy.
Treble Choir is an R-track class that meets every other day for the full year. It is offered to students based on a rigorous audition process. Students will learn how to improve and healthily develop their vocal technique through the performance of a variety of advanced music, in addition to expanding their knowledge about music theory, history, and literacy.
Chorus is an S-track class that meets every other day for the full year. It is open to all students at JFK. Students will learn how to improve and healthily develop their vocal technique through the performance of a variety of music, in addition to learning about music theory, history, and literacy.
At the end of the year, Chorus students will be offered an opportunity to audition for Concert Choir and Treble Choir. Acceptance into those ensembles is contingent on the student’s musicianship and commitment to the choir.
Green Street at the Highlands A Cappella Festival (2023)
Green Street is a select mixed ensemble that performs contemporary and popular music, in addition to jazz works. This is an extracurricular ensemble that rehearses at least once a week during the school year. Membership in this sixteen voice ensemble is based on a rigorous audition process held at the end of the school year.
