My name is Heather Balog and I am the nurse at Avenel Middle School. I have been a school nurse in Woodbridge Township for 21 years. I've been the nurse at Avenel Middle for the past 8 years. I really enjoy working with middle school students, watching them evolve from just-came-from-elementary-school sixth graders to ready-for-high-school eight graders. At the middle school level, I am in charge of sports physicals, screenings, immunizations, exclusions for illness, first aid, and 504 plans. My office is always open during the school day for students who are not feeling well or are injured.
