Grading Procedures

1. Grades are based on individual student participation in both Class & Choir Rehearsals, written assignments & quizzes (both written & oral) 

2. You must participate in a positive way to receive a positive grade and complete all assignments on time.

3. Attendance will be taken for every class.

Late and Missing Assignments:

Parents are encouraged to check their child’s assignments and grades through the Parent Portal.  

• If an assignment is turned in one day late, the grade will be lowered 5 points.

• If an assignment is turned in two days late, the grade will be lowered 10 points.

• If an assignment is turned in three days late, the grade will be lowered 15 points; however, the lowest grade that will be posted in the grade book is a 50.

• If a student does not turn in the assignment after the third day, a zero (0) is posted in the grade book.

• A student will receive a grade no lower than a 50 for a serious attempt at the assignment, even though the actual grade may be less than that.  This is to encourage the student to do the homework. 

Parents will be contacted after a child has missed three assignments.  After a child has accumulated three zeros in one class, an intervention will be arranged by an administrator and/or guidance counselor.
