7th Grade Spanish

7th Grade Syllabus:

You will be learning the following: 

Unit 1: Hola, Que Tal?  based on the Textbook,  Senderos

1. Basic Greetings (Vocabulary): Learn greetings like "Hola" and "Adiós". 

2. Introductions (Communication): Introduce yourself using "Me llamo" and ask names with "¿Cómo te llamas?". 

3. Courtesy Phrases (Communication): Use phrases like "Gracias" and "Por favor".

4. Gender of Nouns (Grammar): Understand that nouns in Spanish are either masculine or feminine.

5. Numbers 1-30 (Vocabulary):  Count from 1 to 30 in Spanish.

6. Subject Pronouns (Grammar): Know pronouns like yo, tú, él, ella. 

7. Present tense of the verb SER (Grammar): Learn the forms of "to be"; soy, eres, es, son, somos. 

8. Telling Time (Communication): Learn to tell time: "Son las tres". 

9. Days of the Week (Vocabulary): Know the days: lunes, martes, etc. 

10. Question Words (Grammar): Use words like "¿Qué?", "¿Dónde?", and "¿Cuándo?". 

11. Simple Sentences (Grammar): Construct basic sentences: "Yo soy estudiante".

12. Cultural Facts (Culture): Learn about Spanish-speaking countries and their traditions. 

Unit 2: En la Clase 

1. Classroom Objects (Vocabulary): Learn nouns like “la mochila” and “el borrador”. 

2. Introductions (Communication): Greet a new student and get to know him/her by asking and answering questions about classes and schedules. 

3. Daily Routines (Communication): Interact (at a survival level) with a new student and talk about classes and school schedules. 

4. Present Tense of -AR Verbs (Grammar): Learn to conjugate present tense verbs like “hablo” and “estudiamos.” 

5. The Verb Gustar (Grammar): Use the verb gustar to express preferences. 

6. Academic Courses (Vocabulary):  Learn the names of classes and places in school.

7. Subject Pronouns (Grammar): Know pronouns like yo, tú, él, ella.

8. Present tense of the verb SER (Grammar): Learn the forms of "to be"; soy, eres, es, son, somos. 

9. Days of the Week (Vocabulary): Know the days: lunes, martes, etc.

11. Formation of Questions (Grammar): Construct basic interrogatory statements: "Que clases tomas?.” 

12. Cultural Facts (Culture): Learn how the school system in Mexico is structured and about the “Escuela21" project and its leader.
