Hello!

A little about me...

My name is Mrs. Fink and I am excited to begin my 14th year of teaching and to continue working with students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade health. I graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, and I am passionate about helping students gain the skills they need to live healthy, balanced lives.

Outside of school, I’m a proud mom to my sweet, animal loving four year old daughter, Ella. I love spending time with my family, playing with our dog, and enjoying summers down the shore. I am also the girls volleyball coach here at CMS.

I truly believe that “your health is your true wealth,” and I look forward to sharing that message with my students this year.

Class expectations

-Students are expected to arrive to class on time and prepared. They will not be permitted to go to their locker during class.

- Everyone will be treated with respect! Name calling or picking on others will NOT be tolerated.

- Assignments need to be turned in on time.

- Cell phones are not allowed in class and need to be kept in the lockers. Any cell phones in class will be turned into the office and will need to be picked up after school.

Health Education Mission

All students will acquire the knowledge and skills of what is most essential to become individuals who possess health and physical literacy and pursue a life of wellness by developing the habits necessary to live healthy, productive lives that positively impact their families, schools and communities. Grading

Late and Missing Assignments:

Parents are encouraged to check their child’s assignments and grades through the Parent Portal.

If an assignment is turned in one day late, the grade will be lowered 5 points.
If an assignment is turned in two days late, the grade will be lowered 10 points.
If an assignment is turned in three days late, the grade will be lowered 15 points; however, the lowest grade that will be posted in the grade book is a 50.
If a student does not turn in the assignment after the third day, a zero (0) is posted in the grade book.
A student will receive a grade no lower than a 50 for a serious attempt at the assignment, even though the actual grade may be less than that. This is to encourage the student to do the homewor

Absences and Make Up Work:

We recognize that a child may be absent from school. Students who are absent are responsible for making up all classwork and homework assignments. Students are permitted two days for each day absent to make up any missed work. If an absence exceeds three days, parents may contact their child’s guidance counselor and request work. Teachers will set up due dates for multiple missed classwork and homework assignments. This allows for timely completion and teacher discretion, which may include importance of the assignment and relevance to current work.
