Throughout the semester, we will be covering the following units:

Mississippi Trial, 1955 by: S.E. Hinton (novel)
Research Project- paper & presentation (research skills: annotating, paraphrasing, citations, MLA Works cited)
Grammar, literary terms, & figurative Language, reading & writing skills
At the beginning of class, we will do mini-lessons on writing & grammar to improve writing skills. Grammar assessments will also be given for homework on a weekly basis for additional practice.
Assignments are accepted one late for a penalty of -5, after one day, the assignment is a zero- responsibility & accountability!
As per district policy, students have two days to make-up absentee work for each day out. Make-up work in bin in classroom and check Google Classroom.
Ms. Amorin is available after school for English tutoring upon student request.
