Each year three awards are given out by ASAP-NJ. The recipients are carefully selected and honored at the yearly conference. The awards are as follows:
Jim Mulhern Award: Jim Mulhern, one of the founders of ASAP-NJ worked as a student assistance professional and served as ASAP-NJ´s Vice President in the late 1990´s. Jim modeled a sense of compassion, duty and commitment to all students he worked with and can be considered an original puzzle master, and an essential piece. We are seeking nominations from its members for those who demonstrate perseverance and passion for the work they do and whose work demonstrates an unfailing commitment to young people. They must be an active member in good standing for this award.
Friend of SAC Award: A person/Agency that has worked closely with SAC's within a district or throughout the county. They have also been resourceful and supportive of Student Assistance Programming.
Unsung Hero Award: Someone who may or may not have be in recovery, but has overcome obstacles in their life and is spreading a message of resilience and hope throughout many of the schools we work with.
