Ms. Jenny Kerfoot, Grade 6 School Counselor
Ms. Kerfoot has worked in the Washington Township School District since 2006. She graduated from Audubon High School and also currently lives in Audubon with her husband, 3-year-old daughter and dog, Luna.
She is the varsity coach for the Washington Township High School Cheerleading Team. Ms. Kerfoot has a School Counseling Degree from Wilmington University. She has enjoyed working with the students of Township in her various roles as a French teacher in the district and is very excited about helping the 8th grade students. In her spare time, Ms. Kerfoot enjoys traveling, reading, the beach, walking her dog, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Madeline Morros has lived and worked in Washington Township for over 20 years. Dr. Morros earned her Doctorate in Education at Widener University. Dr. Morros holds certificates in elementary education, secondary social studies, counseling, and administration. Dr. Morros feels privileged to work with the children and families of Washington Township at the middle school level. Dr. Morros enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and playing tennis.

Mrs. Jaclyn Vernon, Grade 8 School Counselor
Mrs. Vernon received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Monmouth University. She continued her education at Wilmington University and earned a Master of Education in School Counseling in 2015. Before she joined the counseling team at Bunker Hill, she worked as a middle school counselor at Chestnut Ridge and an elementary school counselor in Paulsboro. Mrs. Vernon enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves relaxing at the beach!

Ms. Bernadette Mahoney, Transitional Coach
My name is Bernadette Mahoney, and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I have been working in the field since 1996. I received my bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 1997 and I graduated with an MSW from Rutgers University School of Social Work in 1998. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals, children and families from all walks of life.
In my role as Transitional Coach, I will be working closely with the school counselors and school administrators to ensure that your child achieves their educational, social and emotional goals and that they can have a fulfilling and productive academic school year.

We place Transitional Coaches in schools to bridge critical service gaps. These professionals, trained in counseling, social work, and related fields, help students navigate challenges such as academic underperformance, bullying, negative peer influences, grief, low self-esteem, and more.
Working collaboratively with school counselors, administrators, and staff, Transitional Coaches support the whole child. They deliver an evidence-based curriculum that builds respect for authority, goal-setting skills, assertive communication, substance-use resistance, cultural respect, self-worth, and effective coping strategies for trauma, stress, and anxiety.
Our service is accessible, inclusive, and entirely free for students, families, and schools without affecting insurance plans or premiums. By aligning with school and district missions, our program strengthens individual student outcomes while improving overall school climate, creating a supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Miss Jillian Wanielista, Grade 6 School Counselor
Hello everyone! My name is Miss. Wanielista and I am the 6th grade counselor. I grew up in Washington Township and graduated from WTHS in 2013. I earned my BA in Psychology from Rowan University, and my M. Ed., school counseling, from Wilmington University. My goal is to create a safe space for all students and help them develop not only academically, but also working on their social-emotional skills. I will be working alongside the other counselors to provide individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom lessons. In my free time, I enjoy being at the beach, going on bike rides, and spending time with my friends and family. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Mr. Guy Crawley, Grade 7 School Counselor
Mr. Crawley earned his B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Valley Forge in 2018, with minors in Family Studies and Pastoral Counseling. Then, in 2021, he earned his M.A. degree from Rowan University in Counseling in Educational Settings. During his time in college, he has completed internships and practicums at the Burlington Regional DCF School’s “Project TEACH” program, and Pennsauken School District.
This is Mr. Crawley's fifth school year at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. Mr. Crawley has a passion for working with students and his primary goal is to ensure that students’ academic, career, and social-emotional needs are met. Mr. Crawley wants to continue to uphold the safe environment that Chestnut Ridge provides and continue to help students combat barriers that could be a detriment to their overall development and achievement. It is his sincere honor to serve the students and stakeholders of the WTPS community.

Mrs. Alison Jardine, Grade 8 School Counselor
Mrs. Jardine received her B.A. degree in Psychology from Stockton University in 2012, and then earned her M.S.Ed degree in School Counseling from Monmouth University in 2017. Mrs. Jardine entered the field of school counseling in 2017 and has since worked with students in grades K-12 in a variety of diverse school communities.
Mrs. Jardine joined the WTPS Middle School Counseling Department in February 2022, where she held the role of Traveling Middle School Counselor/Interventionist. In this role, Mrs. Jardine provided individual and group counseling, school-based counseling lessons, and community-based parent webinars on multiple topics. Additionally, Mrs. Jardine served as the Anti-Bullying Specialist (ABS) for all three middle schools.
For the 2025-2026 school year, Mrs. Jardine is the assigned 8th Grade School Counselor. She is looking forward to helping her students achieve academic and social/emotional success in this pivotal year of their academic career.

Stephanie Engel, Transitional Coach
Hello!! My name is Stephanie Engel and I am your transition coach here at CRMS. I have been working with children for the last 15 years. I graduated from Rowan University with my BA in Psychology and went on to pursue my Master's degree in School Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor. I am passionate about working with children and adolescents to help them get through the struggles of those preteen years. My role here at CRMS is to provide additional support to students to help with social, emotional and academic needs. I will also be providing support to counselors, teachers, and administration to provide a nurturing environment to help the students be successful. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out as I will be happy to answer any questions that you might have. I am excited to be part of the CRMS team!

Mrs. Natalie Stokes, Grade 6 School Counselor
Mrs. Stokes will be on leave until February 2026 and Ms. Brianna Johnston bjohnston@wtps.org is assigned as the Long-Term Substitute School Counselor.
Mrs. Stokes joined the OVMS staff in 2016. Prior to joining the staff at OVMS, Mrs. Stokes held the position of Middle School Counselor in Delanco Township, NJ. She serves on the OVMS I&RS team and 504 committee. She also is a member of the District Crisis Counseling Response Team. Mrs. Stokes is a member of the Gloucester County Professional Middle School Counselors Association and the New Jersey School Counseling Association.
Mrs. Stokes has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in Educational Settings from Rowan University and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Childhood Studies from Rutgers University. She holds the certificate of K-12 School Counselor. Mrs. Stokes is currently continuing her education at Rowan University to receive her Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) certificate.
In her spare time, Mrs. Stokes enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, and loves to relax at the beach during the summer.

Mr. Daniel Jedwabny, Grade 7 School Counselor
Mr. Jedwabny has been a School Counselor at OVMS since 2011. Mr. Jedwabny is involved with many organizations and committees, such as the I&RS Team, the Section 504 Committee, and the Gloucester County Professional Middle School Counselors Association. Prior to joining the School Counseling department, he was an Art teacher at OVMS for ten years. Mr. Jedwabny is the 8th grade class co-advisor, OVMS Girls Basketball Coach, and advises the Indoor Soccer program.
In addition to being a certified School Counselor, Mr. Jedwabny holds New Jersey certificates of Art Teacher, Supervisor, Principal, and Director of School Counseling Services. Mr. Jedwabny is a proud graduate of Rowan University (’01,’08) and Wilmington University (’12). He has been honored as OVMS Teacher of the Year in 2011, GCPMSCA Middle School Counselor of the Year in 2017, and NJSCA Gloucester County School Counselor of the Year in 2018.
Mr. Jedwabny enjoys rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, watching movies, creating artwork, working on projects around the house, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mrs. Sarah Doherty, Grade 8 School Counselor
Mrs. Doherty joined OVMS in 2023. Prior to joining OVMS, Mrs. Doherty served as the School Counselor and Anti-bullying Specialist in Folsom, NJ for eleven years. In addition, Mrs. Doherty served as an educational leader for the NJ Positive Behavior Supports in Schools (PBSIS), supported by Rutgers University. She serves on the OVMS I&RS team and 504 team. Mrs. Doherty is also a professional member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).
Mrs. Doherty holds a Master of Education degree in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling from Wilmington University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Rowan University. She is certified in K-12 School Counseling, and was honored to be named the Support Services Educational Professional of the Year in 2018.
