Washington Township Public Schools participates in Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA), a federally funded program that provides financial assistance to schools with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families. The goal of Title I is to help ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic standards and assessments.
For the 2025–2026 school year, the following Washington Township schools are designated as Title I schools:
Wedgwood Elementary School
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School
Orchard Valley Middle School
Washington Township High School
Being a Title I school means that these schools receive additional federal funding to support programs and services that help students meet academic expectations. Title I resources may include:
Additional teachers or instructional support staff to provide small-group or individualized instruction.
Research-based instructional materials and technology to enhance learning.
Extended learning opportunities, such as before- or after-school programs.
Family engagement activities and resources to strengthen home–school partnerships.
Parents and guardians are essential partners in the Title I program. Each Title I school works collaboratively with families to develop a School–Parent Compact and Parent and Family Engagement Policy, ensuring that families are actively involved in planning and supporting their child’s learning. Each school's policy can be found on the school website. The district policy for Title I Family Engagement is located below.
If you would like more information about Title I services or how to get involved, please contact your child’s school or the Office of Curriculum and Instruction for Washington Township Public Schools.
