What are we doing in science?

We will:

• Complete our first Mystery Science unit, Animal and Plant Adaptations.

• Review for our unit assessment on plant and animal adaptations.

• Complete our unit assessment on plant and animal adaptations to demonstrate grade-level skills and understanding.

• Begin our next unit on the brain, emotions, and executive functioning.  

• Complete a self-assessment to reflect on personal strengths and areas for improvement in various aspects of executive functioning (such as memory, attention, organization, impulse control, problem solving, and emotional control).

• Learn about particular parts of the brain (the amygdala, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex) and their functions in relation to how we experience and regulate our emotions.
