What are we doing in math?

We will:

• Finish our final math unit, "Two-Dimensional Shapes and Perimeter."

• Solve problems involving area and perimeter.

• Work with rectangles that have the same perimeter but not the same area.

• Work with rectangles that have the same area but not the same perimeter.

• Complete mini-projects that involve area and perimeter.

• Review and practice for the upcoming unit assessment.

• Complete the unit assessment to demonstrate understanding of two-dimensional shapes, area, and perimeter.

• Complete end-of-year assessments.

• Learn and practice a variety of math skills/concepts, differentiated according to students' individual levels of progress (using the online programs Matific, Splash, Amplify, Happy Numbers, and IXL).

• Practice basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.

• Practice addition and subtraction within 999; division within 100; and multiplication with single digits, multiples of ten, and teen numbers.

• Engage in puzzles and problem-solving tasks.

• Play math games to strengthen skills and conceptual understanding.
