What are we doing in math?

We will:

• Continue our final math unit, "Two-Dimensional Shapes and Perimeter."

• Identify attributes of rectangles, rhombuses, and squares.

• Name, describe, and draw quadrilaterals that are in particular groups, and understand that shapes may be in more than one group.

• Find the distance around 2-dimensional shapes (perimeter).

• Find the perimeter of 2-dimensional shapes, and understand that different shapes can have the same perimeter.

• Find the perimeter of 2-dimensional shapes (given all or some of the side lengths).

• Solve problems involving perimeter, and find unknown side lengths given the perimeter of a shape.

• Complete end-of-year assessments.

• Learn and practice a variety of math skills/concepts, differentiated according to students' individual levels of progress (using the online programs Matific, Splash, Amplify, Happy Numbers, and IXL).

• Practice basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.

• Practice addition and subtraction within 999; division within 100; and multiplication with single digits, multiples of ten, and teen numbers.

• Engage in puzzles and problem-solving tasks.

• Play math games to strengthen skills and conceptual understanding.
