Library FAQ

Q: How many books may my student check out at one time?

A: K-1 may have one book checked out at any given time.  Grade 2 may have two books. Grade 3 may have two books plus a book for research. Grades 4-5 may three book plus 2 books used for research.

Q: What happens if my child loses or damages a book(s)?

A: If a book has been lost or damaged beyond reasonable repair, we ask that the book be replaced or paid for.  Books can be purchased via bookstores or Amazon. We just ask that if it was a hardback, that another hardback be purchased as a replacement.  If you are paying for NPE to replace the book(s), please make sure money is in a clearly labeled envelope/bag that says library.  Checks can be made out to WSSD (not NPE please).

Q: How long can books be checked out for?

A: Books may be checked out for 8 school days.  That is 2 visits to the library.  Students may renew books for an additional 4 day cycle, or longer with the Librarians permission.
