This session will follow a “share and make-and-take” format, allowing teachers to actively engage in both learning and creating.
Participants will come prepared with at least one station activity or game they currently use in their classrooms for either ELA or math. Teachers will have the opportunity to share these resources, explain how they are implemented, and discuss what has been effective or challenging. This peer-sharing component is intended to highlight practical, classroom-tested strategies that support both literacy and math development across varying student needs.
A key component of the Academy will include examining vertical data across kindergarten through fourth grade to identify trends, strengths, and gaps in both ELA and math. Using this data, teachers will collaborate to intentionally design and refine station activities that align with priority skills at each grade level, ensuring continuity and progression of learning.
In addition to sharing, teachers will work collaboratively to create new station materials aligned to foundational ELA skills—such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and writing—as well as key math concepts including number sense, addition and subtraction strategies, problem-solving, math fluency, as well as CRA methods. Time will be provided for teachers to develop, refine, and walk away with ready-to-use resources that can be immediately implemented in their classrooms.
The Academy will emphasize purposeful station design, student engagement, and differentiation in both subject areas, ensuring that all activities support independent learning and maximize instructional time. Teachers will also contribute to the development of a shared, vertical station rotation library, providing accessible, high-quality resources that can be used and adapted across grade levels.
By the end of the session, teachers will leave with a collection of new ideas, concrete materials, and a stronger understanding of how to effectively structure and manage ELA and math station rotations, as well as a shared system of resources to support ongoing collaboration and student success.

Teachers will then shift from analysis to creation, developing common lessons, instructional activities, and formative assessments for priority units. Teams will establish shared expectations for student language use and evidence of progress, ensuring greater consistency across classrooms. By the end of the session, participants will leave with aligned unit plans and a set of ready-to-use, collaboratively developed materials to support high-quality ELD instruction.

Behind every resilient student is a resilient educator, but today's teachers are overwhelmed, under-supported, and often quietly struggling through personal and professional battles. This interactive session will explore:
1) The ripple effect of educator burnout and family stress on student learning, behavior, and emotional regulation
2) Real-world stories & researched practices that illustrate the emotional toll many educators carry, especially those who are also parents/caregivers, experiencing burnout, or survivors themselves.
You'll be introduced to a trauma-aware, strengths-based framework called the THRIVE Method, designed by the presenter (current teacher, accredited life coach and survivor). This method not only helps educators regain control of their health and time, it also offers teachable tools you can embed into your curriculum or advisory sessions to support students in building resilience and sharing those practices at home.
