We are currently covering topics that include:
REMINDER: www.clever.com is a wonderful resource where students can log in and practice lessons and learning games from home!
Encourage independent learning at home, as mistakes are one of the ways we all learn and grow!
Students are currently learning about the history of the town of West Springfield. Students will be making their own brochures about this!
Students are currently exploring force and motion as it relates to magnetic and electrical force. Hands-on activities and learning keep students engaged and interested!
We are always working on becoming better readers and writers! This includes daily practice in reading aloud, independently, writing collaboratively and independently, guided reading groups, and sharing our writing with one another. Currently, we are covering traditional literature such as: myths, fables, and folktales.
Every morning students meet together on the classroom carpet. This is a wonderful activity to promote sharing ideas collaboratively and effectively, in a judgement-free way.
This also includes the morning message, which incorporates numerous mistakes in grammar and punctuation, as well as a math "problem of the day." This is a great way for students to work together to problem solve and discuss.
The classroom carpet and easel are pictured above, showing where daily morning meetings take place!
