My name is Lisa Morris.  The students call me Mrs. Morris. I grew up in Arizona.  I graduated from UNC Charlotte in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in music education.  My symphony experience was amazing.  However, in 2009, I started my Suzuki Training.  I fell in love with teaching.  I am the only Suzuki-Trained teacher who is employed by WS/FCS at this time.  This means I have unique training in teaching beginning violin, viola, cello, and bass.  I have traveled to Colorado, Wisconsin,  Pennsylvania,  Arizona, and Illinois for training.  I work with the Winston-Salem Symphony in their P.L.A.Y. Music programs and youth symphonies to train students around the county.  I have a YouTube channel for string instruction.  Many teachers around the country and the world use my videos to assist in teaching their students in their classrooms and privately.  I love teaching orchestra and sharing my love of music with my students. I hope you will see that at the concerts.  I do things differently than my orchestra colleagues because of my training.  I am also shy in person, but I welcome any communication.  I love to perform and teach.  My goal is to help students grow their skills in music--and, in doing so, help students develop skills to help them become happy, peaceful, and productive adults.  The evidence that I use is the progressing student.  Please feel free to email me at any time of the day or night.  I will get back to you during my working hours.  Welcome to Orchestra!  And please bring a friend!  Our Orchestra is a bit small right now, and we need more students!  Please spread the word about how awesome orchestra is.  Students may change classes from now until 10 days into the school year.
