Career and College Promise is North Carolina's Dual Enrollment program that allows high school students who meet the eligibility requirements to take classes at Forsyth Tech. These classes are tuition-free and may count both towards the high school diploma and earn college credits. CCP allows high school students to get a jump start on their college and workforce preparation saving both time and money.
As an eligible high school student you can choose from various options of:
Career and Technical Education pathways leading to a certificate or a diploma
College Transfer pathways earning college credits towards an Associate degree at Forsyth Tech or Baccalaureate degree at another college or university.
If you are undecided on what path to follow, CCP allows you to explore a career or field of study. You will earn college credit without paying tuition money.
Whether you have a clear idea or are undecided, CCP is a great opportunity to learn to be a college student.

If you are a freshman or sophomore who is identified as academically gifted in English, reading, and math you are eligible to apply with addition to needing:
High school principal or equivalent administrator recommendation verifying maturity to enroll
AIG Coordinator recommendation
Forsyth Tech Administrative approval
Parent/guardian's written consent
Academic advising prior to enrollment

Career & College Promise is an amazing opportunity for students within WS/FCS but it's also important to remember that if you register for classes at Forsyth Tech that YOU ARE STARTING YOUR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT. Through this you have great opportunities to earn college credit but you also need to be aware that you are starting a college transcript (meaning grades!) that will accompany you through the life of your college career.
It is important, after you've researched the opportunities with CCP and if you decide this is an option you would like to pursue, that you reach out to your Mt. Tabor School Counselor to discuss how this might work with your classes at Mt. Tabor or the Career Center. You as the student will be in charge of staying in communication with both your Forsyth Tech advisor AND your Mt. Tabor School Counselor regarding your class choices, grades, and the impact on graduation requirements.
