I am an 18-year-old senior from Vermont, and I'm currently developing my skills in the trade, specifically carpentry. I only have half-days of school and am graduating early in January of 2025. This leaves me time to learn and do some work after school and I'm looking forward to developing my skills further.
I chose the Flex Credit option because it is much better than a regular full-length class. I also chose this option because it grants me the option of not having to be in school for longer every day but still lets me meet the credit requirement to stay enrolled. At first, I was confused about this option as I was given little to no detail about what this option was and was fully about. However, after meeting with Ms.Thielen, she understood the work I would be doing with her in the Flex Credit option. Lastly, compared to other classes I feel this option has much more relevance to my life outside of school.
I meet once a week with Ms.Thielen briefly about what I have been working on, and applying what I've been working on to a bigger picture and/or project. This class is different from other classes because I get to pick the topic of interest. I get to learn the ways that I want to and apply said knowledge how I'd like to.
After I graduate high school I'm hoping to attend CCV classes. This class affects my high school schedule by keeping me enrolled within the school so I can continue to work towards my diploma. This class and website also could be used in my future endeavors. I can show employers this as evidence of my findings and dedication to a task. In all as well as, I believe this class has just as much but even more relevance than any other class to my real life, out of school.
