Dashiell - Reflections and Takeaways

What worked about Flex:

The ability to choose my own projects that were personal to me helped a lot. A lot of times in classes I struggle to relate the topics to relevant situations that apply to me. Flex allowed me to do that because it directly involved me.

What didn't work about Flex:

What didn't work about Flex for me was the interpreting data. A lot of the times my data was hard to find patterns in. The key was to use my memory and remember what I felt was going on in the moment and generally that would be in line with my table.

What could I have done differently for it to be more successful:

If I had done more work in the first quarter this would've been more successful for me. I felt very time crunched by this and other hobbies making this very challenging to fit in. This could've been avoided if I had done more work in the first quarter.

What could Mrs .Thielen have done differently:

If we both had communicated earlier more effectively this would've been a lot easier. In beginning it was hard to make sure we were both on the same page. Eventually, we were able to recover and it led to a successful journey.

What did you learn about yourself:

As a student-

I learned that as a student being able to relate topics to my life make me more appreciative of the learning/topic. In other classes, I struggle to have fun because it just feels like another assignment. This course has made me realize that if the required relates directly to me it is much deeper and personal than another assignment.

As a person-

What I've learned as a person is I need to be more confident in myself. A lot of these projects stemmed from the fact that I was unsure about myself and had low self-esteem. In the future, I will accomplish so much more if I believe in myself.
