This is my 20th year teaching at Wentzville Middle School. For the first 12 years, I taught 7th grade Math (for a few years I taught both Math and ELA). I am also a Google Certified Educator and a Google for Education Certified Trainer. You'll probably notice the influence of all three of these components throughout the course of the year - I am a huge fan of problem-solving, reading, writing, and technology!
I am a firm believer in lifetime learning; I serve as the chairperson of both our building's Professional Development Committee and the district's Professional Development Committee and recently wrapped up my 2 terms as the St. Louis Regional Representative on the Board of Directors for Missouri's Staff Development Council (LearningForward MO) RIGHT before the pandemic hit. I love sharing the awesome things taking place inside classrooms right here in Wentzville with people all over the state, while simultaneously gaining new ideas to improve our students' educational experiences! One thing is certain: we will be experimenting with A LOT of ideas in our Horizons classroom this year!
Outside of school, I spend quite a bit of time hiking, theatre (watching, performing, and/or directing), and experimenting in my kitchen (I'm quite a fan of cooking and baking...especially cupcakes). Sadly, we won't see hiking or baking show up in the classroom...probably...
