5th Grade Unit on Perspective
Goal: Learn about being a fashion designer. Express yourself through the design of fashion. You may choose one project idea or create your own. When it's complete share your project and an explanation to Flipgrid.
Express your style by drawing a collection of clothing. You could even design uniform for your sports.
OR Create a paper person and design their clothing.
OR
Express yourself through the Getty Challenge. Use household and visual space to replicate a work of art.
Submit your picture with the work of art too.
OR create your own project around the theme.
THEME: Dessert Designer also known as a Pastry Chef
Goal: Learn about being a pastry chef as a job. Do one of the projects listed below or create your own around the topic. When it's complete share your project, along with an explanation about what you are happy with and/or unhappy with, to Flipgrid.
Draw or Paint your own dessert picture.
OR create an edible dessert. Consider the way it looks.
OR photograph some food like a food photographer
OR research your own artist who uses food or creates images of food and show some pictures and tell us about the artist on flipgrid.
OR create your own project around the theme.
THEME: ARCHITECTURE
Goal: Learn about Architecture, Create an Artwork, and Share your work (with an explanation) on Flipgrid. Project ideas are listed below.
Architecture is created by an architect. So… What does an architect do??
You could draw your own building
OR create a building from found objects
OR construct a building from Legos or blocks
OR build a fort out of blankets or boxes
OR create your own project around the theme.
by grade level
Gather a collection of 3 - 5 of your favorite things then draw a picture that includes your favorite things.
Show us your collection and your picture on flipgrid.
OR
Gather a collection of 3 - 5 objects that you think go together. Arrange them. On flipgrid, tell us how you arranged the objects and why they are your favorite things.
Create a miniature gallery like Marisol had in her bedroom. If you have post-it notes, see if you can use those. If not, you can cut paper into smaller sections. Your pictures should include things that are important to you.
Don’t forget to flipgrid your gallery when you are done.
OR
Show us your favorite artwork in your house. It could be on a wall, in a book, or even a screensaver. Please share why the artwork is your favorite using art vocabulary. (Hint: The elements of art are color, shape, line, form, space, texture, and value. Share what you like within some of those categories.)
