Did you know 50% of books are made up of the same 100 words? The most frequently used words are known as sight words. Since sight words are used so often, it is important that readers are able to recognize these words by “sight”. Sight words are critical to reading not only because they are used so frequently, but also because many of them cannot be sounded out or illustrated.
Kindergarten sight words are divided into colored lists. As your child masters a colored list, they will receive a certificate and classroom recognition. New sight words will be introduced weekly during live instruction. Please focus on mastering the purple list first, followed by the blue list and so forth.
