As 8th grade athletes transitioning into their High School years, the goal of this program is to prepare each young lady and each young man for their future athletic endeavors physically, mentally, responsibly, and healthily. Athletes must be aware of and adhere to the following:

  • I understand that I have a responsibility that goes beyond the game of basketball (i.e. behavior in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, etc.).

  • I understand that it is a PRIVILEGE to be on this team and represent Wentzville Middle School.

  • I understand that it is my responsibility to serve as a positive leader in the way I behave, communicate, and learn both in the classroom and on the court.

  • I understand that the things I say either verbally, written or though social media reflects on my basketball program, school, family, and community.

  • I understand that I have a responsibility to treat my coaches, teammates, referees, and opponents with respect.

  • I understand that I am expected to try my very best every day at practice and on the court.

  • I understand that good sportsmanship is a key component of a healthy program and true leadership.

Ultimately as a WMS Indian, I understand that I am a CONTRIBUTION to this team, NOT THE TEAM. I know that there will be challenges, obstacles, and mountains to climb along this athletic journey; I understand the importance of staying level-headed and respectful to everyone around me. I am an individual, but a part of something MUCH bigger.

As a part of the WSD Athletics program, we will follow all rules and guidelines set in the WSD Athletic Handbook, in addition to own own school guidelines. Please click the link below the access the WSD Athletic Handbook.
