PREREQUISITE

Participation in Summer Camps and Director Approval, (Audition for percussion and color guard). Winds and Percussion must be enrolled in Concert, Symphonic, or Wind Symphony. The marching band is open to any student who plays an instrument or wishes to join the color guard. Marching band will serve as an elective credit, and a PE credit, and meets after school every weekday. The marching band performs at competitions around the state, as well as home football games and parades. All performance and rehearsal dates are required, and summer activities must be attended. This is a physical class and requires movement, lifting, and physical fitness. Accommodations may be made with director’s approval. 

*NOTE: Students who successfully complete 2 semesters of marching band are eligible for PE credit*

REHEARSAL | EXPECTATIONS

All members of the marching band meet every day after school. 

MON - FRI | DOWNBEAT @ 3PM | END OF REHEARSAL @ 5:30PM

Members should arrive 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time. Section leaders will hold one sectional per week during the school day (either advisory or academic lab) Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. Directors must be given at least one week’s advanced notice of a student’s absence from band practice.
