During the month of November, the 4th grade music students will begin working on a new unit based on musical form. This will directly address Standard E-1.c Demonstrate and differentiate between songs in major and minor keys; Standard C-1.a Create and document melodic and/or rhythmic composition in known form using known rhythms and pitches; Â Standard T-1.a Melody: Identify and perform or respond to in major/minor tonalities; Standard T-3.a Form/Structure: Aurally identify a variety of forms including recurring themes, interludes, canons and theme/variations; Standard R-1.b Communicate similarities and differences in music from various historical periods with music of today; and Standard R-2.b Communicate similarities and differences throughout the history of American music.
