During the month of Dec., the 2nd Grade  music classes will be celebrating multiple holidays through song.  We will learn about, sing about, dance, and use instruments to accompany songs for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Las Posadas (3 Kings Day). This unit will directly address Standard R-1.a Communicate understanding of music's expressive qualities that influence personal preference; Standard R-1.b Communicate similarities between musical pieces; Standard R-2.b Explain their own cultural and social interests in music; and Standard R-2.c Identify and connect specific songs/music to specific settings (holiday, religious, celebratory).
