Mrs. Kolomaya's Class

About me

My name is Alana Kolomaya and first of all, I want to say that I am so happy to be your teacher! I have been looking forward to meeting you all summer. This school year I will be teaching grade 3 and 4 at Meadows West School and it will be my 11th year teaching in all! Grade 3 and 4 are such fun years with so many wonderful learning activities to do. I try to incorporate as many hands-on learning activities into the classroom as I can and work with student interests to help support reading, writing and math. I too attended Meadows West from nursery to grade 8 and have so many great memories growing up in the school and want to help create great memories for all of you as well.

In class I like to share stories and experiences that I have had. A lot of that has to do with my interests. I enjoy anything creative, building and making, travelling, cooking all different types of foods and trying new recipes as well, spending time with my family and friends. Most of all I love being outdoors with my family, whether that is camping, beach days, hiking, snowmobiling, or fishing in the summer and winter. For me, it's all about trying new things and creating adventures.
