Learners who receive Inclusive Education support have a Student Specific Plan, such as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Behaviour Intervention Plan (BIP), or any similar plan to address specific needs. These plans are developed collaboratively by the family, school team, clinicians, and therapists. Goals are determined based on the learner's needs and are different for each learner. They may target domains such as communication, social/emotional, self-regulation, or self-management. Learning experiences are designed to support the goals.
Each learner has a regular classroom, and they participate as much as they are able, with support. This is different for each learner; however, regular access and opportunity is provided daily.
Some programming may also occur outside of the regular classroom, depending on goals and needs.
IEP meetings are held twice per school year, in the fall and in the spring.
Please feel free to reach out at anytime with questions regarding your child's programming. Together is always better!
