Scheduling for Non-WSD Groups

Swanson's North Fork Discovery Center is a great location for your next large event. With a large lodge, fully stocked kitchen, and access to the trails of North Fork Park it truly is a magical place for family, friends, youth groups, or even weddings.  In the winter guests who rent the facility will have access to cross-country skis and snowshoes, enough to accommodate up to 80 people.

As this facility is funded and maintained by Weber School District and Weber School Foundation (in conjunction with the Swanson Foundation) Weber School District groups get first priority in reserving the Center. For this reason, groups outside of WSD cannot reserve the Center until October 1st of each year. At that time, non-WSD groups can reserve dates for the current school year up until July 31. August is currently completely reserved for WSD groups, if you are seeking an August date please check with the Center after May 1st.

We do not currently rent for overnight use. 

Cost

The Center is $400 per day to rent. That rate covers from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. If you would like to stay beyond that time it can be arranged for an additional fee of $75/hour. The Center requires a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold a reservation date. The remaining balance is due before or on your reservation date. 

Payment

Once you have sent the necessary information to Ben Prall, an invoice will be created and sent to the address provided. At this time all payments must be made via check and be accompanied by the invoice. You may mail the invoice back in or bring it into the WSD District Offices located at 5320 Adams Ave. Pkwy, Ogden Ut 84405

Requirements

To schedule the Center any outside group must provide evidence of insurance that has at least $1,000,000 in coverage with Weber School District added as an additionally insured entity for the day of the reservation. For family groups this can usually be obtained easily with home owners insurance, just speak with your agent. A minimum of two adults over the age of 21 must be on-site at all times.

To schedule the Center you may use the calendar below to check for availabilities. Groups outside of WSD cannot schedule dates until October 1. Things to Consider

The Center does not have a large parking area right at the Center, we can only accommodate 10 (4-5 in the winter months) or so cars at a time. We do have a large parking lot that is 1/2 mile down the road that can accommodate 30-40 vehicles or more if there is someone to direct it. The road from the large parking lot is about 1/2 mile and gains about 100' of elevation. The road is narrow but can be driven by most passenger vehicles except in winter conditions. In the winter only 4x4 vehicles with good tires should attempt to drive up, many vehicles get stuck on this road in the winter and you will be responsible for getting your vehicle out if you get stuck. There could be additional fees if Center staff is required to get your vehicles off of the road.
