This course will enhance the experience of Art 1. There is a continuing emphasis on the studio production and application of the art elements and principles are used to assist students to express themselves through creation of works of art.

This course exposes students to basic processes and techniques of creating art objects out of paper, clay, fabric, fiber, and more. Students will learn the importance of good craftsmanship and how to listen carefully and follow directions. In addition, they will learn the cultural and historical significance of various craft objects and construction methods.

This course provides an overview of 3D design principles and introduction to fine crafts, their media and the cultures they represent. Students will develop an understanding of media specific technical skill working with mixed media.

Provides exploration in many forms of visual arts and skill development using elements and principles of art. Abilities and skills will cover a wide range of instructional activities. Students will have an opportunity to create original works of art using paint, colored pencils, scratchboard, graphite and pen and ink.

(pre-requisite 3D Design 1) This course offers students an opportunity to increase their understanding of three-dimensional artwork through a broad investigation of 3-D Design manipulation of space through originality and innovative problem solving. The class offers students an opportunity to develop mastery in concept, composition and technical competence. Originality, imagination and creative problem solving will be encouraged.

(prerequisite:Ceramics I) Students taking this course will further develop skills in hand-built pottery, an expanded variety of sculptural, decorating, and glazing techniques and wheel techniques will be introduced. Activities will be individualized according to the ability level of each student.
